Journalist and financial expert Farnoosh Torabi and MediaFeed founder Michael Schreiber take a deep dive into the stories, issues, and buzz shaping Montclair by exploring the heart of our vibrant community with curiosity and neighborly chatter.

They will be joined by local Filmmakers Danny Monico and Jasmine Wang whose film BRENDA will be screened as part of the NJ Shorts Competition. Also joining them will be Masiel Rodriquez-Vars, the Executive Director of Montclair’s Fund for Educational Excellence.

 

Danny Monico is an Emmy-nominated director, writer, and producer whose films have screened on The New Yorker, PBS, and at festivals nationwide. He’s earned multiple Telly and Anthem Awards for his work, which spans productions across the United States, Europe, and Asia. Danny is the co-founder of Incurrent Media, a production company dedicated to telling culturally relevant human stories. A Montclair native, he currently resides in nearby Bloomfield, NJ.
Jasmine Wang is a second-generation Asian American filmmaker and cofounder of Incurrent Media. Her mission is to create films that advocate, educate, and connect humanity, and her creative work often explores the themes of identity and belonging. Her work has been featured on PBS, Amazon Prime Shorts, and screened at Montclair Film Festival, Manhattan Film Festival, and San Francisco Independent Film Festival. Her documentary content has earned two Telly Awards, a Gold Anthem Award, and a recent New York Emmy Nomination.
